Clinical Science Young Investigator Award winner

Dr Morag Young

Dr Morag Young is a senior research officer at Prince Henry's Institute of Medical Research in Melbourne, Australia. She completed a PhD with Professor John Funder through Monash University and the Baker Heart Institute on the role of mineralocorticoids in development of cardiac fibrosis. After two and a half years at UT Southwestern Medical School, Dallas, Texas, working on SF-1 knockout mice, she returned to Melbourne to continue work on mineralocorticoids and heart disease. Her key research interests include mineralocortioid receptor activation by novel mechanisms and the interplay between the mineralocorticoid and glucocortioid receptors in determining vascualar inflammation and oxidative stress.
