Ryan Harris
Ryan Harris graduated from San Diego State University with a Bachelors degree in Kinesiology. From there he obtained a Masters degree in Exercise Physiology from California State University, East Bay. After taking a year off from school, he decided to go back and to pursue his doctorate, where he graduated from Indiana University with a degree in clinical exercise physiology. His 2 year postdoctoral fellowship in the Department of Physiology at University of California San Diego prepared him for his current position as Assistant Professor at the Georgia Prevention Institute of the Georgia Health Sciences University in Augusta. The primary interest of his laboratory is to study the interaction between vascular function and oxidative stress in different clinical populations, such as lung disease, diabetes, age and obesity. Specifically, the laboratory investigates vascular endothelial function via ultrasound by utilizing pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions to perturb vascular homoeostasis.
